my 5-9 after my 9-5 or whatever they say
Currently oh-so-slowly working through Infinite Jest, which I anticipate will be a lifelong pursuit. I mostly read classics, essays, philosophy and non-fiction. My Goodreads (Goodfellas reference?) is here.
Here's some of the places my art lives. I'm always practicing illustration and playing with mediums; watercolor, oils, and gouache are my favorite (but when you think about it, gouache is just watercolor \cup oil paint?)
Bog Goblin drawings for Zane's card game Dizzy Wizards.
I really enjoy music. I am currently working through the 1001 Albums list. I also try to listen to a new-ish album every day, which I loosely catalogue here.
Just to be clear, this and music listening fall into the "activity" denomination. I'm on the fence about media consumption being a "hobby." Either way, I like watching movies. And TV Shows. Some of my favorite movies are:
While we're here, here are some TV shows I enjoy:
I enjoy writing! I've done:
Op-eds and editing for the Huntington News. Fun fact: I also got quoted in this article
Stuff for Spectrum, a student-run creative writing magazine.
Satire. I was in the Husky Husky, Northeastern's student-run satire paper, for about four years. The website has since shut down, but check out some samples at the link.
In my free time, I enjoy doing commissions for friends and helping out with some of their projects.
Freestyle fun underwater drawing for Santo.
I ran a radio show on WRBB 104.9 with my good friend DJ Young Sheldon. Check out the Instagram. Most of the posts were made in collaboration; Keegan provided the edited images, I drew over them. Here's the brief:
"DJ Ellie and DJ Young Sheldon are taking you on a tour of Italy, if “Italy” meant “Spotify playlist” and “tour” meant “uninterrupted hour of music.” Join us as we uncover the secret backstory behind our DJ names and try to make a bit last way too long."
